What is the difference between the pib.Makerbox and the pib.Edubox?
Both boxes contain the exact same complete hardware kit with all non-printable parts needed to build a full pib#5 robot (Raspberry Pi 5, depth camera, all servo motors, electronics, wiring, power supply, bearings, and screws). Neither box contains 3D-printed parts, as you print those yourself.
The difference lies in the educational software, curriculum, and personal support included for schools:
1. pib.Makerbox (For Private Builders & Hobbyists)
- Complete hardware components and electronics
- Full access to open-source assembly guides, CAD models, and community Discord
- Ideal for: Independent makers, adult enthusiasts, and developers who simply need the physical parts.
2. pib.Edubox (For Schools, Universities & Educators)
Includes everything in the Makerbox, plus:
- 1-Year TRYB.ai License: Full access to the cloud AI platform to enable conversational voice features and AI skills.
- pib.Academy Access: Turnkey teaching materials, lesson plans, student worksheets, and interdisciplinary bionics modules.
- Weekly Live Support Sessions: Closed weekly office hours via Discord with the pib engineering and education team for real-time troubleshooting and classroom coaching.
- Ideal for: Teachers, vocational trainers (Ausbilder), universities, and STEM workshop leaders.
