About pib
pib stands for printable intelligent bot and is an open-source, 3D-printable humanoid robot developed by isento. Our core mission is to democratize robotics and artificial intelligence, turning technology that was long confined to high-budget research labs into an open, affordable, and hands-on platform that anyone can build, understand, and modify.
As a community-driven project, pib thrives on the collaboration of makers, educators, and developers worldwide. All 3D printing files, step-by-step assembly guides, source code, and knowledge bases are freely available under an open-source license.
Today, pib is used in over 150 schools, universities, and educational institutions to provide an interdisciplinary learning environment, bridging CAD design, physical AI, robotics, physics, bionics, and software development. Recognitions such as the German Design Award, the German Innovation Award, and placements at Jugend forscht highlight both the engineering quality and creative momentum behind the project – proudly made in Franconia.

Quotes & Perspectives
On Open Source & Democratizing AI
“Humanoid robotics and artificial intelligence cannot remain an exclusive playground for tech giants with multi-billion-dollar budgets. If we want society to understand, shape, and trust these technologies, we must take them out of closed labs. With pib, we make advanced robotics radically transparent, affordable, and accessible for anyone to build.”
— Dr. Shota Okujava, Co-Founder & CEO, isento
On Hands-On STEM Education & Future Skills
“We cannot inspire the next generation for future technologies through dry theory alone. Schools and universities need hands-on platforms that allow students to truly grasp how advanced technology works. With pib, we bring robotics, 3D printing, and AI directly into classrooms – interdisciplinary, practical, and engaging enough to turn passive tech users into tomorrow’s inventors and engineers.”
— Dr. Jürgen Baier, Co-Founder & Managing Director, isento
About isento GmbH
isento GmbH was founded in 2010 as an IT service provider. The software service provider from Nuremberg with 80 employees specializes in complex projects in the field of agile software development. In addition to customer projects, isento also develops its own projects with a focus on AI-controlled robotics, most notably the humanoid robot pib.
Shota Okujava
Dr. Shota Okujava is CEO of isento GmbH and the visionary behind pib.rocks. With a doctorate in business informatics, he can look back on more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry. From pure programming to consulting in software architecture to development management in large-scale projects, he was involved in projects himself until he founded isento GmbH in 2010. One of the company’s great passions is artificial intelligence and robotics.

Jürgen Baier
Dr. Jürgen Baier holds a Ph.D. in physics, serves as the CEO of isento GmbH, and is the visionary behind pib.rocks. He has been active in the IT industry for more than 25 years and has a wealth of experience and a track record of projects in the field of agile software development and beyond. For several years now, he has also been deeply involved in the fields of (humanoid) robotics and machine learning, particularly in the area of reinforcement learning. Among other things, this has led to the creation of the open-source project pib.rocks and the AI platform TRYB.
